Studio policies

Our policies.

Madina values your time and the time of every client waiting for a spot. These policies keep the studio fair to everyone — and protect both you and us under Quebec law.

At Kamil Esthétique, I truly value your time and sincerely appreciate that you've chosen me for your care. I also want to be fair to all clients who are waiting for appointments. The policies below explain what to expect — and what is expected of us both.

01 · Booking & consultation

All appointments are booked online through our secure booking system, by phone, or by direct message on Instagram. Every appointment includes a complimentary skin consultation. A valid credit card is required at the time of booking to reserve your spot; the card is held on file and is only charged in the event of a late cancellation or no-show, as described below.

02 · Rescheduling

You are always welcome to reschedule 48 hours or more in advance with no penalty. Rescheduling within this window can be done online, by phone, or by reply to your appointment confirmation.

03 · Cancellation

  • If you cancel at least 48 hours before your appointment, there is no charge.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment, without a documented emergency or medical reason, will result in a $50 charge to the credit card on file.
Why this is enforceable. Under article 1458 of the Civil Code of Québec and the Consumer Protection Act, a service contract is formed when you book. Reasonable cancellation fees that are clearly disclosed in advance — like the one above — are lawful compensation for the time slot that cannot be resold on short notice.

04 · No-shows

If you are unable to attend your appointment without providing notice, it is considered a no-show and a $50 charge will be applied to the card on file. Repeat no-shows may result in pre-payment being required for future bookings.

05 · Late arrivals

  • Please arrive on time so we can enjoy your full treatment together. Treatments are timed precisely and out of fairness to the next client, late arrivals cannot be extended.
  • If you are more than 30 minutes late without notifying us, your appointment may be cancelled and treated as a no-show ($50 charge).

06 · Payment & pricing

All prices are displayed in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes (GST/QST) unless otherwise noted. The all-in price, including taxes, will be confirmed before any treatment begins. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit, and Interac e-transfer. Packages and series must be paid in full at the first session unless a written payment plan is agreed.

Quebec pricing rule. Under the Consumer Protection Act, the price shown must be the price you pay. We will never charge more than the price quoted at booking, and any optional add-ons will be priced and confirmed before they are performed.

07 · Treatment & results

Every treatment is performed by a licensed esthetician using professional-grade products. We use realistic, evidence-based language about expected outcomes and timelines during your consultation. Skin is biological and individual: while we do everything in our control to deliver visible improvements, we do not guarantee specific cosmetic outcomes, as factors such as skin biology, home routine, sun exposure, medications, and lifestyle all affect results.

If you are not seeing the progress we discussed at the consultation stage, please tell us. We will adjust the protocol, often at no additional cost, within the limits of what is clinically safe.

08 · Health disclosure & contraindications

For your safety, you must inform us before treatment if any of the following apply:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Active cold sores, open wounds, recent sunburn, or active skin infection in the treatment area
  • Use of isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past 6 months
  • Use of prescription retinoids, blood thinners, or photosensitizing medications
  • Recent injectables, laser, or other esthetic procedures
  • Known allergies to skincare ingredients or topical anesthetics
  • Auto-immune conditions, bleeding disorders, or any skin condition diagnosed by a physician

If a contraindication is identified at the studio that was not disclosed in advance, the appointment may need to be modified or rescheduled and our standard cancellation policy will apply.

09 · Minors

Clients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must sign a written consent form before any treatment. Certain treatments — including chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and the Green Peel® — are not performed on minors unless medically appropriate and consented to in writing.

10 · Refunds, packages & gift cards

  • Services rendered are non-refundable. Unused sessions in a paid package may be transferred to a different service of equal or lesser value, at our discretion.
  • Packages are valid for 12 months from purchase. Unused sessions after this period expire unless extended in writing.
  • Gift cards are non-refundable, non-exchangeable for cash, and valid for 24 months from issue. Under Quebec law, gift cards do not expire for the dollar value loaded onto them.
  • Retail products may be exchanged within 14 days if unopened. Opened skincare products cannot be returned for hygiene reasons unless they are defective.
Gift card protection. Under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act, sections 187.1 to 187.5, prepaid cards may not include expiry dates on the funds loaded; the funds remain available to the consumer.

11 · Privacy & personal information (Law 25)

Kamil Esthétique collects personal information — including your name, contact details, date of birth, medical history relevant to skin treatment, payment information, and treatment photos when consented — solely for the purpose of providing safe, personalized esthetic services and managing your account.

How we protect your information. Bookings and payments are processed through Medexa, a third-party booking system. Payment details are handled by certified payment processors and are never stored on our servers. Treatment notes are stored securely and accessed only by the treating esthetician.

Your rights. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to legal record-keeping obligations. You may also withdraw your consent to non-essential uses (such as marketing emails) at any time.

Privacy officer. Madina, owner of Kamil Esthétique, is the designated person responsible for the protection of personal information. You may contact her using the contact information on the homepage.

Quebec Law 25. This policy is provided in accordance with An Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as modernized by Law 25 (formerly Bill 64). Under this law, you have rights of access, rectification, withdrawal of consent, portability, and the right to file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI).

12 · Your consumer rights

As a client of Kamil Esthétique, you are protected by the Quebec Consumer Protection Act (chapter P-40.1). This means, among other things:

  • The price advertised is the price you pay, before taxes.
  • Any representation we make about a service must be accurate and not misleading.
  • You have the right to a clear, written description of any service before paying.
  • Contracts entered into by misleading practices, undue pressure, or false claims may be cancelled.
  • You may take legal action through Quebec's Small Claims Division for amounts up to $15,000.

13 · Complaints & recourse

If you are unhappy with any aspect of your visit, please tell us first — most things can be resolved on the spot or with a follow-up appointment. Reach out to Madina directly through the contact information on the homepage.

If a concern remains unresolved, you may file a complaint with:

  • Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC) — for service quality, pricing, and consumer-rights issues. opc.gouv.qc.ca
  • Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) — for privacy and personal-information concerns. cai.gouv.qc.ca
